Urban Roots Reno Urban Teaching Farm

Urban Roots is a Reno based non-profit that strives to change the way kids and entire communities eat and learn through garden-based education. Urban Roots has programs for everyone, every ability, and every garden-related interest. From building school gardens to nutrition workshops, Urban Roots is working to connect our community to the food they eat.

Volunteers are welcome at the Farm at 1700 East Second Street every second Saturday of the month from 9-11 am in May and then 8:30-10:30 starting in June. Volunteers can fill out the waiver at the farm or on their website at urgc.org.

Volunteers also needed May 10th and May17th from 2:15-4pm at Smithridge Elementary for cleaning, planting, and weeding their school garden. For a long-term volunteering option, check our their website. The next long-term volunteer training is June 3rd from 8:30 to 10:30am.
