Our August “Turn Your Heart Challenge” this month is to use the “Country” setting in FamilySearch fan chart to see your ancestry.
This is a simple challenge. Simply open FamilySearch and select Tree, then select the fan chart option and using this symbol below, then select seven generations and country.
You might need to go back more than seven generations on some of your lines to get to a country of origin if you descended from some of the old New England families.
Make it more interesting by celebrating a custom from your country of origin. The FamilySearch blog, found at the bottom of your Family/search home page, often highlights celebrations from various countries.
